Waffles (whole-Wheat)

Yield: 6 Servings

1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour 1 Cup 1% Milk
1/4 Cup Toasted And Finely Chopped 1 Tablespoon Honey
-Walnuts, Optional 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder 1 Egg
1/4 Teaspoon Salt 2 Cups Mixed Berries, For Topping

Preheat the waffle maker. In a large bowl, stir the flour with the walnuts, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, honey, oil and egg together until smooth.

Stir the wet mixture into the dry mixture until smooth. Cook the waffles using the volume of batter and cooking times indicated by the appliance manufacturer to make 6 waffles. (If needed, brush the cooking surface with a little oil between batches). Keep the cooked waffles warm until ready to serve.

Top with fruit, a little maple syrup or honey.
