Marinade For Beef Fillet Or Steak
From Linda's Kitchen
Yield: 4 Servings
1/4 Cup Sesame Oil |
2 Tablespoons Spring Onions, |
1/ Cup Soy Sauce |
-Chopped |
2 Cloves Garlic, Crushed |
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar, Firmly Packed |
2 Tablespoons Grated Fresh Ginger |
500 G (1 Lb) Beef Fillets, Or |
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice |
-Steaks (see Note) |
Combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, spring onion and brown sugar in a non-metallic dish. Add the beef and coat well with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight if possible. Brown the beef on all sides on a very hot, lightly oiled barbecue grill or flatplate. When the beef is sealed, remove, wrap in foil and return to the barbecue, turning occasionally, for a further 15 - 20 minutes, depending on how well done you like your meat. Leave for 10 minutes before slicing. Put the leftover marinade in a pan and boil for 5 minutes. Serve as a sauce with beef. NOTE: Steaks can be used instead - there is no need to wrap them in foil.
